3D X-Ray

3D X-ray imaging also known as CBCT (cone beam computed tomography) is the latest diagnostic technology that most in our profession have been slow to implement due to the significant upfront investment required, but when appropriate, it can make the difference in accurate diagnosis and precision treatment. The difference can be illustrated with the analogy where a simple x-ray allows one to look at a 2D picture of an apple where you cannot see the seeds or even know if they are present. With 3D we can tell if they are present and define the exact location, number and size!

We can view from different angles, through multiple slices and measure with extreme precision. This technology is indispensable when placing dental implants with accuracy, removing teeth, diagnosing various conditions and assisting with other procedures.
